We had a warmer, sunnier day today, so after Corrina's school and Rene's gymnastics (she's been working very hard on cartwheels), we played outside all afternoon. I weeded and cleared the flower bed. Rene and Corrina had painted some clay flower pots while they were painting their pumpkins over the weekend, and they transplanted some mint (Corrina) and oregano (Rene) from the garden to grow in their pots inside.

We had a quick appointment at 3:15 for Corrina and Hank at the pediatrician's to make sure their ear infections had cleared (Corrina's is completely cleared and Hank still has fluid, but it's not infected). Hank will have surgery to get ear tubes placed on November 8th. Their pediatrician is at Magee Women's Hospital - in the lobby there is a grand piano that plays via a computer disk. It was making music, but the keys weren't moving, so Rene asked the lady at the information desk about it. The lady put in a different disk and Rene danced around the lobby (classical music) for nearly 20 minutes.

On the way home from the doc we stopped at a playground in Schenley Park and Rene succeeded in crossing the monkey bars all by herself! She was SO PROUD! (It has monkey bars that swing from chains). She swung across the bars so many times that she has blisters on her hands now. She was playing with two other kids who were 6 and 7 - the 7 year old boy could get across pretty easily, but 6 year old girl could only do two chains before falling. We were home by 5:30 to see Dad before he went to bowling. By bedtime Corrina's sniffles had become a full-blown cold, so we set up the humidifier in her room. Ever since Rene had eczema as a toddler we've made it a habit to keep the humidifiers going through the winter.

Hank is in major climbing mode, and to keep him off the dining room table and out of Yahweh's food on the ledge I have started folding up the dining room chairs when they aren't in use!
