Thursday we picked up Corrina a little early from school to go to a dental appointment. Tony met us there to take Hank while we were at the dentist. Corrina was the bravest so she went first, and she went back all by herself. When she was done, the hygienist came and got Rene and let Corrina watch Rene. Finally it was mom's turn to go back and they both watched me. All three had good reports - no cavities.
We had the plumber out in the afternoon to fix a backed up toilet and replace some cracked pipe under the kitchen sink.

Friday, we bought a twin mattress for Hank (next week we're taking the crib mattress over for Joe and Valerie's baby-on-the-way). I managed to get it into the house and it's on the floor in the living room. It looks so big compared to the crib mattress! He already has a train comforter I bought when I was still pregnant with him. Good thing, because the boy LOVES trains (aka toot-toots), and anything else with wheels - buses, cement mixers and other heavy duty equipment being the favorites.
All three kids got their hair cut (pictures will have to wait since our camera battery is dead). Hank was very difficult, but we have a stylist who can be remarkably calm when a kid is screaming and thrashing, and manages to keep cutting through the whole thing, not phased a bit. Corrina and Rene were both very good, and have beautiful cuts. Rene's working on growing her hair out all one length (no bangs) so she can keep it up in a ponytail. Corrina has her same blunt cut with bangs.
Then we went to a plastic surgeon to look at the mole on Rene's scalp. It is a very delicate mole - if she scratches it at night it bleeds on her bed. And when she got her hair cut the stylist accidentally broke the mole with her comb, so it was all bloody at the plastic surgeon's. They saw us VERY quickly. This is only the secod plastic surgeon's office I've been in, but BOTH were VERY plush offices - fancy carved wood door with ornate gold handle, antiques and oriental rugs in the waiting room, etc - I'm sure they didn't want me lingering too long with my three tired kids!
But the surgeon took a 5 second look at her head and spoke to her briefly and decided she could handle taking it off in the office instead of at the hospital, so we're scheduled to come back in May and he will take it off.
Finally we are home. It's been a long week!
Corrina and I are working on some potato salad to have with our brats tonight. Corrina loves to cook - the other day I was starting a Rugrats video for her and she caught a glimpse of a cooking show - she decided to watch the cooking show instead and watched the whole 30 minutes!
Oh, and I didn't mention Hank's had an ear infection this week. With the tubes they can usually be treated just with antibiotic drops into the ear, but his isn't clearing with the drops so we'll probably take him in to the pediatrician tomorrow.
