Rene and Corrina both have strep throat. :-( But they have not felt very sick - we found out accidentally, really, when we took Rene to be checked for an ear infection. Hank has a cold, but no strep.

Rene's class performed in the school's spring concert last week - it was really sweet. One of the songs was "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins. They had made their own kites to use as props. They also sang "Music Brings Us Together" along with the sign language, and "Praise Him, Hallelu". Tomorrow Rene has her first ever field trip - to see "Alexander and the Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". Next week will be Corrina and Rene's last week of school - Rene's class also goes the first week of June, but she will miss her last week because we will be in Ocean City, MD.

Here are pictures of the picnic table I made from Family Fun magazine. It uses only one sheet of 4' by 8' plywood. The clever thing about it is that it is put together with interlocking slots so it can be taken apart for storage. But making the slots the right size was a BEAR and I ended up doing a lot of filing to get them to fit. But I learned a lot and am really proud of it.

Tony gets credit for painting the picnic table for me (I did about half of it, but I think everyone who knows me knows that I'm not quick to finish painting projects. Ahem, see below ;-)

This last picture is a picture of a bird that flew into our house! (The sliding glass door to the back porch stays open all day during the summer!) We managed to open a screen and get him out!
