This year we went to Ocean City right after the St. Rosalia Festival. The drive is about 8 hours and the kids did great on the drive. We had beautiful weather the entire trip and we stayed busy the whole time. Here are some pictures:
1. We went on a Pirate Adventure boat ride. They had activities for the kids, and every so often, the captain would surreptitiously throw something out into the water to be found by the kids. It did have sails, but Hank was disappointed that it wasn't one of the tall-sails ships "like a REAL pirate ship"
2. Rides on the boardwalk; spinning teacups
3. Hank in the little roller coaster (Corrina's beside him)
5. Corrina in the bumper boats. Corrina's wouldn't steer and just kept spinning around

7. The "smash a rubber chicken into the soup-pot" game
8. Rene managed to get herself into the little kid's whip; they LOVED this ride

The souvenirs they picked this year:
Hank - a paperweight that is filled with water and fish, and has dark blue oil that swirls around like the ocean
Corrina - A Disney princess t-shirt
Rene - a t-shirt where you can pick your own design and they iron it on; she picked an angel kitty
The kids also got to eat out several times and were amazed and astounded by the bounty at their first ever buffet ("WOW! macaroni and cheese AND nuggets AND mashed potatoes!") We took them to a small water park. They went to the condo pool daily, and most days we had some time at the beach. There were really big waves this year, which Rene especially enjoyed. But Corrina saw a crab the first day and was pretty afraid to walk on the sand after that.
