Friday Gramma got to come to Corrina's birthday celebration at school. Children with summer birthdays are allowed to pick a day to celebrate so she picked a day when Gramma was here. Corrina brought in ice cream sandwiches for a snack, and passed out bubbles and mini-coloring books that I made using the letters in her name (C is for cake...). We also brought in a craft to make a bird puppet with flapping wings - it was a huge hit with the kids (cut out two bird shapes from colored paper, glue the bodies together, fold down the wings, and attach a popsicle stick). We even saw Corrina's friend Ethan out wwalking later that day and he was carrying his bird puppet! While we were at school, Rene's teacher invited us over to kindergarten to see their caterpillars - they are growing painted lady butterflies.
Rene lost her 4th tooth Friday, and Gramma and Grampa got to see how stressed out Rene gets. All day Friday Rene was in her loose tooth mode - refusing to eat, drink, smile, speak, move her head, or do anything that might jar her tooth, which was hanging by a thread. (Her teacher said it was so hard to see Rene refusing to smile!) Rene finally got the courage to pull it out Saturday morning at 3:03am. She put it in her tooth fairy pillow and was amazed that the tooth fairy had time to leave her a dollar and a note :-).
Grampa also did his traditional wagon pull to the park. They also played games, read books, and brought presents for the kids - a magnetic dart game for Rene, a farm vehicle set for Hank, and a set of wipe-off books and markers in a case for Corrina.
1-2. Corrina showing off the front and back of an outfit NeeNee made (yes, we got all the summer clothes down this week!).
3. Corrina showing off the kite she got at the "Take Your Daughter to Work Day" activities at Pitt (she only stayed a few hours, but she's a Daddy's girl and was thrilled to see where he works).

4. Hank LOVES bandaids (he calls them bandages) and requested one for his head after he bumped it.
5. Friday it got into the 60's, which for Rene means swimsuit and water-play in the back yard!
