Hank had a successful surgery for his ear tubes this morning. I had him there by 6:30 (Tony stayed home to take Rene to school and watch Corrina). The surgeon took him back at 7:30 (the kid before him didn't show up), and the doc was giving my his report at 7:45. Hank's ears were very infected - bulging with bloody pus and heading for another eardrum perforation. He said the blood was unusual, but ir does happen sometimes when the eardrums are really bulging and it stretches the tiny blood vessels. Amazing his ears could be so infected and Hank was not that irritable.
Before the surgery the nurses asked if he separates from me easily. Uh, no. (It was clear to them because he was freaking out every time a nurse entered the room). So theygave him versed, an oral sedative, before taking him back. Which made him really relaxed and he wasn't even phased when the surgeon took him from my arms.
We were home by 9am. He was a little wobbly still from the versed, but within an hour he was absolutely fine. A little tired from waking up at 6am!
