We just returned from our trip to Memphis! We were there from Friday, August 12 until Sunday, August 21. We had a great time. We had lots of time for visiting and doing lots of fun things. Some of the highlights were:
- Nee Nee's inflatable pool - the kids spent hours upon hours in it. Rene was doing handsprings into it!
- playing with Sarah Ann and Mosby in the pool, playing pretend school, playing at their house, watching Shark Tale
- running like madmen and scaring each other in Grandaddy Cecil and Liz's house
- going to see Uncle Bits in Mississippi and riding on his "mule" (like a golf cart with mega muscle and 4WD)
- learning to go "trash picking" and getting tons of toys - 44 Barbie dolls, a Barbie airplane, a mini etch-a-sketch, a magic toy with a disappearing cat, among other things!
- riding horses at Anita Elkins
- going to the Pink Palace museum
- visiting the caterer at the end of Nee Nee's street to see all the wedding cakes on display
- Corrina learning to sew with Nee Nee; she made a cat pillow

The temperature was hot hot hot! The high most days was around 100 degrees. The airplane trips went fine, despite Northwest's mechanics deciding to strike the day before we left!
