Corrina was the only Polley kid without an emergency room visit...until yesterday. Corrina was playing outside Thursday with her friend Ireland when she tripped and fell hard, landing on her forearm. It hurt, but she got up and went about her business without much trouble. Thursday night she had a rough night and had to have Tylenol, but she was ready for school Friday morning. However she wasn't able to write at school, and had to tell her teacher her test answers so the teacher could write them for her. So after school she went to the pediatrician. Dr. Somers said that it wasn't a good sign that the pain was very localized - it was only a certain part of her wrist that hurt, and sent us to the E.R. The x-rays didn't show a break in the bone, but the orthopedic specialist said it looked like a fracture of the growth plate at the wrist end of her arm, and gave her a cast. By this time poor Corrina had been at the doc and then the hospital for 6 hours, and she got really upset about the cast ("It's hot, I can't bend my arm, It's not comfortable", etc). When we got home she went right to sleep and this morning she seemed to get a kick out of her friends reactions when she showed up at Hank's soccer soccer game with a cast. Her little leopard accompanied her through her whole E.R. ordeal, so we made him a cast too. Corrina has so many friends she's already worrying about running out of room for signatures on her cast. And despite her cast, she did attend her sketchbook class today, and the teacher helped her with things she couldn't do herself.



It was Hank and Rene's last soccer game today, and they had pizza and a trophy ceremony after their games. Rene lucked out and won the door prize - a yellow soccer ball.
