The kids have been badly wanting a pet, especially a dog. I finally talked them down to a cat (helped immensely when we went to a shelter to look at dogs and Corrina was knocked down into the mud by a dog we were meeting!) We went to the pet store to get supplies and they happened to have a display of animal shelter cats there - two hours later we were home with a new pet. His shelter name was Clyde, and the kids didn't think it was fair to change his name, so Clyde it is. He's 6 months old, very playful and very affectionate. He's already discovered a favorite spot in the box window in the dining room.
